Interactions:

Chlorpromazine

  • Adverse Effect: Concomitant administration results in decreasing the efficacy of Bromocriptine  
  • Clinical Management: Avoid the concomitant use if possible.

    Cyclosporin

  • Adverse Effect: Increases Cyclosporine concentrations  
  • Clinical Management: Monitor Cyclosporine concentrations and adjust the dosage accordingly.

    Promethazine

  • Adverse Effect: Co-administration results in decrease in the efficacy of Bromocriptine  
  • Clinical Management: Monitor for therapeutic effects and adjust the dose accordingly.

    Thioridazine

  • Adverse Effect: decreased bromocriptine effectiveness  
  • Clinical Management: Because bromocriptine and thioridazine have opposite effects on dopamine receptors, the concurrent use of these two drugs is illogical. Alternative therapy to either drug should be considered
